Agriculture Development

Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy, with nearly 54.6% of the workforce engaged in agriculture and allied activities. Recognizing the significance of this sector, the Government of Maharashtra has undertaken several initiatives to promote sustainable agricultural development and improve the livelihoods of farmers.

Our primary objective is to ensure that all government schemes effectively reach farmers and benefit them at the grassroots level. To achieve this, we are actively involved in facilitating farmers’ access to agricultural subsidies and financial assistance.

In cases of excessive rainfall or natural calamities, official damage assessments (panchanama) are conducted through authorized authorities, enabling farmers to receive timely compensation and support.

We also organize agricultural guidance camps to educate farmers about modern farming techniques, government schemes, and best practices for improving productivity.

Additionally, we assist farmers in obtaining their Farmer ID, ensuring they are registered and eligible to avail various government benefits and services.

Due to the increasing movement of leopards in nearby areas, a sense of fear and concern has developed among local residents and farmers. Ensuring public safety has therefore become a priority.

In response to this situation, a formal request was submitted to the District Forest Officer to take immediate and necessary action, including the installation of cages in the affected areas to safely capture and relocate the leopards.

Acting on this request, the District Forest Officer directed the Taluka Forest Officer to take prompt and appropriate measures. Necessary steps are being undertaken to address the situation, ensure the safety of citizens, and manage wildlife in a responsible and humane manner.
